The Budget for 2024 was announced on Tuesday, 10 October 2023.

Budget 2024 includes changes to:
- Social welfare
- Supports to help with energy costs
- Tax
- Employment and business
- Education and childcare
- Third-level education and training
- Housing
- Environment and climate
- Transport
Some of the changes announced in the Budget come into effect immediately such as increases to the cost of cigarettes.
Some take place before the end of 2023 like the once-off Fuel Allowance and the double payment of Child Benefit.
Others take effect from the beginning of January 2024 including most of the social welfare increases and the tax and USC changes. Other changes will be later in 2024 like the extra two weeks of Parent’s leave and Benefit.
Many others have to be finalised before coming into effect. Some Budget measures may change when the legislation required to bring them into effect is enacted.
